You can review the additional job description section on postings for documents that may be required.* Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application.## Job Title:Research Associate - Rehabilitation Engineering Design Laboratory## Department:Medicine | Health and Rehabilitation Sciences**Position Summary**The Rehabilitation Engineering Design Laboratory and Assistive Technology Center at OSU are seeking a dedicated and innovative Computer Science/Computer Engineering graduate to join the team for an exciting project. The selected candidate will develop a mobile application to track wheelchair usage behavior. This project offers a unique opportunity to delve into the world of mobile application development, deep learning frameworks and apply them in a real-world context. The goal is to detect and analyze wheelchair usage patterns, with the potential to significantly enhance the quality of life for wheelchair users.This is a great opportunity to build scientific skills and knowledge at the intersection of engineering and health science disciplines, learn new techniques, and position yourself well for your future training and career goals. Although an ideal candidate will have proficiency with some of the basic or advanced research and development work, training will be provided for the required skillsets. This is a full-time position based in Columbus, Ohio, with an initial one-year appointment and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.**Job Requirements** Bachelor's Degree in computer science/engineering, health sciences, or other medical field, or equivalent experience required. At least one year of experience working in a research setting and collaborating with an interdisciplinary group of practitioners. Industry or clinical experience preferred. Requires excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
