Director of Land Acquisition

Director of Land Acquisition | Greater Sacramento / Roseville Area

National homebuilder expanding in the Greater Roseville / Sacramento market is seeking a Director of Land Acquisition to identify, underwrite, and negotiate residential land opportunities. The ideal candidate brings direct residential land acquisition experience with a production homebuilder, strong local market relationships in the Sacramento region, and a track record of navigating entitlements and closing land deals.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and evaluate raw land and finished lot opportunities in the Greater Sacramento / Roseville / Placer County market.
Lead financial underwriting, due diligence, and contract negotiation on residential land transactions.
Manage relationships with landowners, brokers, municipalities, and JV partners.
Coordinate with entitlement, forward planning, and operations teams through land acquisition to project start.
Track market conditions, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities across target submarkets.

Qualifications:

5+ years of residential land acquisition experience with a production homebuilder.
Deep knowledge of the Greater Sacramento / Placer County / Roseville land market.
Experience with entitlements, land use, and municipal approval processes in California.
Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills.
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
