Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Location: Osceola, AR

Schedule: Full-time (shift and overtime requirements to be confirmed)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire, Non-Exempt

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Marathon Staffing is seeking experienced Material Handler / Forklift Operators to support a metal-processing operation in Osceola, Arkansas . In this role, you’ll move, stage, load, and organize raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies—while helping protect product identity, inventory accuracy, and safe material flow.

What You’ll Do

• Operate forklifts or other approved material-handling equipment after completing required site training and authorization.
• Move inbound material, work-in-process, finished goods, packaging supplies, and production support items to assigned areas.
• Stage materials for production, quality, packaging, shipping, receiving, or storage based on labels, work orders, and supervisor direction.
• Inspect loads for stability, visible damage, missing identification, blocked access, or unsafe movement conditions.
• Verify material identity, quantity, location, and status before movement to help prevent inventory or order errors.
• Maintain organized aisles, staging zones, docks, and material lanes with safe separation from pedestrians.
• Complete scanner/handheld/inventory/ERP transactions accurately when required.
• Report damaged material, inventory discrepancies, equipment concerns, or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform pre-use equipment inspections and maintain assigned equipment according to policy.
• Coordinate with production, packaging, quality, and shipping teams to support on-time material flow.

Required Qualifications

• Recent forklift or powered industrial truck experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated safe load handling and pedestrian-control awareness.
• Ability to read labels, work orders, locations, and basic inventory information.
• Ability to complete site-specific training and equipment certification requirements.
• Strong attention to product identification and correct load placement.
• Reliable attendance and clear communication with multiple departments.
• Ability to work full-time on-site and safely perform the physical demands of the role.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience moving steel, coils, large industrial loads, or high-value material.
• Scanner, warehouse-management, ERP, or inventory-system experience.
• Shipping, receiving, or production-staging experience.
• Prior experience in a steel service center or metal-processing facility.

Work Environment

Industrial plant and dock environment with heavy loads, forklifts, steel materials, and frequent coordination with pedestrians and other equipment. PPE and strict traffic-control rules apply. You must be able to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
