This role is ideal for a proven people leader who can develop talent, drive operational excellence, and ensure accounting activities are completed in alignment with company policies, regulatory requirements, and business needs.Here's how anAccounting Managerfor PCL Industrial Services, Inc. contributes to our team:ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop the accounting team by setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growthDelegate and coordinate activities effectively, supporting the development of team members through mentoring and guidanceOversee, monitor, and be accountable for key accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end/year-end closeEnsure accounting submissions and financial deliverables are completed accurately and on time; follow up on issues, problems, and discrepanciesDeliver timely financial reporting and provide insights that support leadership decision-making, including ad hoc analysis as neededIdentify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers, providing forward-looking analysis to help the district anticipate issues and capitalize on opportunitiesLead planning and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with district and corporate goalsWorks closely with the district to provide general guidance and expertise on contract/ subcontracts, including interpretation of contract/subcontract documents, and negotiating subcontract changes.Manage the district financial cycle and working capital in accordance with company policies, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectivenessMaintain strong internal controls and oversee audits (internal/external as applicable), compliance activities, and required regulatory documentationOversee required documentation (e.g., insurance, bonding, SDI, workers compensation, statutory declarations, lien waivers) to ensure it is complete and maintained appropriatelyDrive accounting system and process improvements to enhance accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership/supervisory experience managing an accounting function or teamStrong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reportingConstruction or related industry experience preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reportingExpert knowledge and understanding of full-cycle accounting, with the ability to teach and mentor more junior staff.Effective verbal and written communication, including the ability to present financial information to leadershipStrong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and deadline disciplineERP and reporting tool proficiency; Oracle preferredYour Work Has Purpose HerePCL projects are where life happens, where communities connect, careers begin, and progress is made.
