Accounting Manager

Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency and reduce time to complete the close. Assist in creating proper written documentation of department policies and procedures. Collaborate with peers to oversee the daily activities of the accounting department. Manage the monthly close process to ensure timely completion of consolidation and reporting deliverables. Manage monthly close process by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and multi-entity financial statements. Ensure consistent application of US GAAP. Read, interpret, and guide staff in the determination of proper US GAAP accounting treatment of complex deals/transactions. Assist with treasury management, including banking relationship setup and implementations and cash forecasts. Manage timely billing of service line management contracts, HRO contracts, and other non-patient revenue and ensure timely collection. Partner with the HR department to ensure proper accounting of payroll expenses and responsible for timely review and recording expenses and liabilities in the general ledger. Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business. Keep informed about the latest developments in the accounting and healthcare industries and assess impact to the Company. EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting. CPA preferred. REQUIREMENTS Minimum of five years of financial management experience. Experience in health care is preferred. KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of finance and accounting functions including, budgeting, credit, investments, internal controls. Knowledge of computer systems, spreadsheets, and financial systems programs and applications. Knowledge of management practices to lead staff. Knowledge of clinic operation's strategic business objectives. Knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting software. SKILLS Skill in analyzing financial data and preparing appropriate related reports. Skill in relating organizational objectives to financial policies on costs, fees, credit, etc. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with management, medical staff, auditors, and the public. ABILITIES Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to staff and work under multiple priorities. Ability to work creatively with management and department staff to achieve objectives. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Some bending and stretching are required. Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
