Registered Nurse - Medical ICU (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) who is capable of floating to stepdown and other units as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence, quick decision-making abilities, and a strong foundation in critical care nursing. This role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting a variety of patient needs across multiple settings.

Shift Information

The position requires availability for day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, with weekend shifts every other week. A 36-hour workweek is guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical ICU.
Float to the stepdown unit and, when necessary, to emergency department holds and med-surg with modified assignments.
Utilize advanced equipment such as balloon pumps, CRRT, Impella, ICP monitoring, and rapid infuser.
Participate in the management of patients utilizing therapeutic hypothermia and other advanced treatment modalities.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Active RN license in New Hampshire or a compact state.
Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience; strong clinical skills are required.
Experience in stepdown care is preferred.
Ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations and provide care independently.
Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred but not mandatory.
Willingness to float to the Behavioral Health Annex, with training provided.
