Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and providers during examinations and surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Collect and document patient histories, vitals, and clinical data
- Administer routine treatments and approved medications per provider direction
- Enter medication, lab, and diagnostic orders into the electronic medical record
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinical policies
- Coordinate scheduling for specialty testing and consultations
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and practice staff
- Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support front office functions as needed (scheduling, patient flow, discharge)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least 1 year of verifiable Medical Assistant experience
- 13 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of: Medical terminology Clinical procedures and surgeries Ambulatory or surgical practice workflows
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced environment
- Licensure & Certification Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent national MA certification (AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, etc.)
- Current BLS (CPR) certification
