Regional Human Resources Director

Benefits This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and parental leave Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; advanced degree and/or PHR/SPHR certification preferred. 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including strategic HR Business Partner or HR leadership responsibilities. Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders and executive teams within complex, multi-site, multi-state, or highly matrixed organizations. Strong working knowledge of California employment law, HR compliance requirements, and employee relations best practices. Proven experience leading organizational change initiatives, workforce transformation efforts, and business growth strategies. Experience managing or developing HR teams and collaborating with Centers of Excellence across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, and HR Operations. Strong background in employee relations, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning. Experience supporting unionized environments, including labor relations, contract administration, collective bargaining, and grievance resolution, is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making, build credibility with business leaders, and drive organizational effectiveness. Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and relationship management skills. Experience within logistics, transportation, supply chain, distribution, manufacturing, or other operationally focused environments is a plus. Bilingual language capabilities are a plus. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the senior HR leader and trusted advisor for a designated business region, aligning HR strategy with organizational objectives and operational priorities. Partner with business leadership to develop and implement HR plans, talent strategies, and workforce initiatives that support growth, retention, engagement, and organizational performance. Provide strategic and day-to-day guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, organizational design, workforce planning, and employment practices. Drive a high-performance culture through effective talent management, leadership coaching, succession planning, and employee development initiatives. Lead organizational change, transformation, and business growth initiatives while ensuring effective change management and workforce readiness. Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver comprehensive HR solutions, programs, and services across the employee lifecycle. Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, practices, and procedures that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and industry best practices. Advise leaders on complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and risk mitigation. Support labor relations activities, including collective bargaining agreement administration, grievance resolution, and union-management partnerships where applicable. Oversee workforce planning efforts to ensure the organization is appropriately staffed to meet current and future business demands. Manage vendor and third-party HR service relationships, ensuring service quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Monitor HR metrics, workforce trends, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business impact. Lead process improvement initiatives designed to enhance HR efficiency, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
