Role Description The Human Resources Specialist is a full-time, on‑site role based in Durham, NC. This role is responsible for supporting daily HR operations, including administering HR policies and procedures, maintaining employee records, and assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes. The Human Resources Specialist will manage employee benefits enrollment and changes, coordinate leave administration, and serve as a point of contact for HR‑related inquiries. Day‑to‑day tasks include supporting performance management processes, helping address employee relations matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and company standards. The role collaborates closely with leadership and staff to foster a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture that aligns with the company’s mission and values. Qualifications Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) principles, including HR Management and Personnel Management. Ability to develop, interpret, and implement HR Policies while administering Employee Benefits programs. Experience with recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance best practices. Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems, and standard office software. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills, with a collaborative and professional approach. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
