Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week available, 13-week assignment, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• 27-bed general medicine unit caring for diverse patient populations including respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal conditions
• Night shift patient ratio of 5:1, with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic EMR required; 24 hours of orientation provided
• Clinical experience with telemetry monitoring, insulin drips, heparin protocols, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and wound vacs
• 13-week contract with up to 40 hours of approved time off (blackout dates apply around Labor Day)
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as sepsis, heart failure, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and sickle cell disease

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license or license pending (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with 5:1 patient ratios required
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry, IV insulin protocols, heparin infusions, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac therapy
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Willingness to float within scope of practice as needed per facility policy
