Work Week: Monday – Friday Department The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of California’s largest state departments, serving millions of job seekers and employers for more than 70 years. EDD’s Information Technology Branch supports the organization’s client/server, multi‑tier infrastructure. Job Description & Duties This position is headquartered in Sacramento at the New Labor Agency Building and may include hybrid work. The Business Application and End User Architect will: Collaborate with management, technical architects, engineers, and service roles across the Cloud Technologies Section, Information Security Office, Enterprise IT, and other divisions to support organization-wide client/server and multi‑tier infrastructure. Engineer and deploy end‑user device tools and systems that keep EDD servers and workstations current and secure from vulnerabilities. Architect Desktop and Application Virtualization solutions, as well as Business Application Server integration. Lead design and implementation for Cloud‑Based Application Delivery, Application Virtualization, Cloud‑Based OS delivery, Endpoint Encryption, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and Desktop Virtualization. Provide guidance and best practices for security, performance, and operational efficiency across end‑user environments. Qualifications Ideal candidates will possess: Extensive experience designing and deploying end‑user device tools and virtualization technologies. Proficiency in Cloud‑Based Application Delivery, Application Virtualization, Cloud‑Based OS delivery, Endpoint Encryption, LDAP, and Desktop Virtualization. Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across technical and non‑technical teams.
