We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support development and construction accounting activities for a growing real estate organization in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interpreting financial data, partnering with project teams, and helping maintain accurate reporting across multiple active projects. The role offers meaningful involvement in project-based accounting within a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-impact community development work.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial reports and detailed supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate project and corporate accounting records.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and review balance sheet activity to identify discrepancies and maintain clean financial data.

• Manage accounting support for development and construction initiatives, including recording transactions and monitoring project-level financial activity.

• Review budgets, committed costs, and ongoing expenditures to help track project performance throughout each phase of construction.

• Assist with work-in-progress reporting and support construction draw documentation to facilitate funding requests and project reporting needs.

• Monitor sources of funding, reimbursement activity, and cash movement related to development projects to maintain accurate financial visibility.

• Evaluate financial results by researching variances, highlighting trends, and identifying items that may require follow-up or correction.

• Partner with project managers and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight that supports planning and business decisions.

• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.

• Complete special assignments and ad hoc reporting requests as business needs evolve.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with solid exposure to general ledger activity and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience supporting month-end close and analyzing account activity, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to investigate variances and interpret financial results.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and efficient spreadsheet analysis.
• Ability to manage several priorities at once in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Clear communication and strong organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across accounting and operations teams.
