In this role, your dedication and understanding of specialized instructional strategies will be essential in fostering the academic and personal growth of students on alternative standards. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, empowering students to reach their full potential.

Qualifications:

• Valid CDE Special Education (SPED) License with Generalist Endorsement (Special Education Generalist, ages 5-21)—license must be active or provide proof of application for endorsement
• Professional Teacher License required; substitute, interim, or temporary licenses not accepted unless application for SPED license with endorsement is in process
• Demonstrated experience in special education settings, with an in-depth understanding of instructional practices, differentiated instruction, and support for students with unique learning needs
• Extensive knowledge of the IEP process and strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Not open to virtual, hybrid, or VOCO instructional models; in-person teaching required

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, adapt, and deliver individualized instruction for students with special needs
• Develop and implement IEPs, tracking progress toward measurable goals
• Employ special designed instructional strategies to support student learning on alternative standards
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families
• Regularly communicate student progress and needs with relevant stakeholders
