Job Title: Payroll Director
Position Summary
Payroll Director This is a full-time, in-person role located in Brooklyn, NY with a salary range of $100k - $150k. The position requires an experienced, detail-oriented professional to lead and manage overall payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing while maintaining strict compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Execution : Oversee and process biweekly payroll for a workforce of 800+ employees.
Legal Compliance : Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
System Management : Manage payroll systems and collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline data flow and accuracy.
Audit Readiness : Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement : Lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades, automation, and reporting improvements.
Strategic Collaboration : Partner with HR and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and employee compensation reporting.
Internal Support : Provide excellent internal customer service to staff regarding payroll inquiries.
Qualifications
Payroll Director Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). A minimum of 3 years of hands-on payroll experience is required, with nonprofit or healthcare sector experience considered a plus.
Payroll Director A strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations is mandatory. The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively lead operations.
