A growing, Kansas City-based upscale casual concept is seeking an energetic and driven Sous Chef to join our team as we continue to expand.

The Sous Chef plays a key role in supporting back-of-house operations, working closely with the Executive Chef to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in every shift. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in the action-leading the line, coaching team members, and driving execution with pride, urgency, and attention to detail.

Day in the Life

• Lead the back-of-house team through daily service with energy, urgency, and consistency
• Work hands-on on the line, ensuring high-quality execution of every dish
• Support inventory management, ordering, and food cost controls
• Assist with labor management and scheduling
• Uphold food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times
• Train, coach, and develop team members to build a strong kitchen culture
• Partner with front-of-house leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
• Step in wherever needed-this is a fully hands-on leadership role

Requirements

• 2+ years of culinary leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and cost controls
• Hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
• Food Handler's or ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
