National Sales Account Manager (West Coast)

National Sales Account Manager (West Coast) Department: Corporate Employment Type: Full Time Location: Nottingham, PA Description The role involves prospecting, obtaining, and closing sales to new customers to achieve budgeted sales goals; achieving revenue growth in existing accounts by utilizing a creative and consultative selling approach in the sale of Herr’s products; developing and implementing sound selling strategies that are specific to each targeted new and existing account in the designated geographical territory and utilizing strong negotiation efforts to preserve business. The individual is responsible for establishing new relationships and building existing relationships with buyers and brokers in these accounts in partnership with a major National chain moving into the retail space. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals that are tailored uniquely to each account, which includes the following: Ride along with wholesalers and spend time in the field developing the business. Schedule appointments with buyers and brokers of existing accounts on a planned timeline. Schedule appointments with buyers of prospect accounts by researching the internet, cold calling over the phone and/or in person, networking and other resources. Acquire in‑depth industry and competitive knowledge through internet research, IRI data and creative research resources to prepare sales presentations tailored for each meeting using PowerPoint, Excel, Stratum and Herr’s promotional materials. Prepare customer costs by analyzing product categories based on Herr’s standard selling price, cost of goods, transportation, promotional spending, overhead, shrink, and competition, to align with profit goals. Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating and working cross‑functionally with teams such as Supply Chain and Marketing. Analyze sales and profit goals for each account using Stratum. Research and inquire about each account’s private label needs. Attend trade shows to represent and promote Herr’s Foods Inc. products. Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of competitors. Keep a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, communicate effectively with co‑workers and clients, work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Perform other related duties, special projects, and functions as required from time to time. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college related to sales, marketing, or business or 6‑8 years of field experience including sales and budgeting, preferably related to Consumer Product Goods (CPG) Management, Key Accounts, and/or National Accounts. Experience with Private Label sales. Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite experience. Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship building skills. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills to work toward creative solutions. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to internal/external customers. Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, time management, and excellent organization skills. Travel may be required about 80% of the time.
