JOB SUMMARY
The cookis responsible forpreparing food to be served,complying withall applicable sanitation, health,organizationand personal hygienestandardsand following established food production programs and procedures.The cook is also responsible forappropriateuse of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Prepare orassistin preparation of food served using established production procedures and systemstoprovide nutritious and appealing meals toclients,staffand guests

• Assistin planning menus andpurchasinginventory and necessary supplies needed to provide food service

• Knows andcomplies withstandardportionsizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules,policiesand proceduresto ensure efficiency and consistency in meal service

• Operate all kitchen equipment inan appropriateand efficient manner to ensure a safe and productive environment

• Comply withestablished sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and healthstandards;observeproper food preparation,handlingandfood storagetechniquesto ensure clean and safe kitchen operation

• Assistin managing inventory,putting supplies away,monitoringand reporting inventory levelsto ensureaccurateandrequiredlevels of supplies

• Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisorto ensure safe,productiveand efficient kitchen operation

• Perform orassistwith opening and closing of kitchen, set upand tear-down according to shift needs, to ensuretimelyandaccurateservice andsafe and secure kitchen operation

• Provide andmaintainreliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity

PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and serve food for special functions as assigned

• Performrelated dutiesas needed,such as helping to wash dishes, preparing recycling, andassistwith any other projects as assigned by the kitchen manager

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires High School diploma or GED and

• Minimum1yearwork experience incommercial kitchen or related experience
