Part-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist

Action Truck Parts is looking for a Part-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist who enjoys working with both numbers and people while helping keep cash flow moving. Accounts receivable is more than processing payments. It’s about helping customers, supporting the business, and ensuring the financial details behind every order are handled accurately and professionally. In this role, you’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve account questions, apply payments, research discrepancies, and conduct collection calls. 

Excellent Training Opportunity: If hired before year end, you'll have the opportunity to work side-by-side with the experienced AR employee you're replacing, who will be retiring. This provides valuable hands-on training and a smooth transition into the role.

What You'll Do

• Apply customer payments and maintain accurate account records
• Monitor customer aging and proactively contact customers regarding past-due balances
• Investigate and resolve billing questions and payment discrepancies
• Assist with reviewing credit applications and evaluating new customer accounts
• Maintain tax exemption documentation 
• Assist with other accounting functions and special projects as needed

What We're Looking For

• Previous accounts receivable, collections, bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred 
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
• Comfortable communicating with customers by phone and email 
• Ability to research discrepancies and resolve problems independently 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software 
• Professional, dependable, and able to take ownership of responsibilities

• Part Time: Approx 25-30 hours a week, Monday-Friday during normal business hour. On-site in our Rockdale, IL location
• Competitive pay; hourly range for this position is between $20.00 - $25.00 based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
