You'll work at one school and focus on delivering specialized instruction to high school students, fostering both academic and personal growth.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Current Connecticut Special Education (SPED) license appropriate for high school grades
• Proven experience teaching students with a variety of learning exceptionalities
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and support staff
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students in accordance with their individualized education plans
• Develop and adapt lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Track and report student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, facilitating partnerships in student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a positive classroom culture that respects and encourages all learners
