This Associate-level role is part of the HR Business Partner team and will partner closely with project leadership and regional HR to address workplace concerns, support HR processes, and ensure consistent application of company policies. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and a passion for delivering a best-in-class employee experience. Responsibilities include employee relations, performance management support, employee engagement programming, HR-related training, and general HR administration.This role is based onsite at one of HITT’s largest active data center projects in Afton, TX (outside Lubbock), supporting a workforce of field and trade professionals within a complex operational environment. Being onsite allows the specialist to work directly with project leadership, strengthen engagement across the workforce, and serve as a liaison between site operations and corporate HR. The schedule will generally consist of four to five days per week onsite in Afton, TX, with the potential for one work-from-home day per week. Occasional travel to other jobsites or regional offices in Texas may be required.HITT Contracting is headquartered in the Washington, DC area (Falls Church, VA). Year-over-year, we are ranked as a Top Workplace in the large company category by the Washington Post.ResponsibilitiesServe as the onsite HR liaison for the Afton, TX HITT team, supporting a workforce of approximately 500 field and subcontractor professionals and coordinating closely with Site Operations, Operations and Safety teamsServe as a first point of contact for team members regarding HR questions, workplace concerns, and company policiesSupport the resolution of employee relations matters, escalating complex issues to senior HR leadership as appropriateAssist with fact-finding and documentation related to team member complaints, workplace concerns, and policy violationsProvide administrative support for employee relations activities, including badging and site access requirements, maintaining documentation, tracking cases, and preparing reportsPartner with other HR teams to support the administration of employee onboarding, offboarding, and workforce changes at the project site.Partner with site leadership to help maintain a positive and respectful workplace environmentAssist managers with performance documentation, coaching conversations, and corrective action processesConduct exit and stay interviews and utilize the feedback to better the employee experienceIn partnership with other HR teams, ensure onsite engagement, communication, and culture-building initiatives are carried out in alignment with HITT’s mission and values in a large-scale, multi-team environmentRespond to HR-related inquiries, questions, and concerns from team members across all teams and provide guidance and direction on HR policies, programs, and processesQualificationsBachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years of Human Resources experience (may leverage additional work experience in lieu of a degree)Working knowledge of fundamental HR principles, practices, and appropriate employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong investigative skills and prior experience with workplace investigationsPossess strong conflict resolution skillsExceptional interpersonal skills and experience building relationships internally and externallyKeen attention to detail with ability to track and manage multiple projects at one timeAbility to exercise discretion in handling confidential informationEagerness to integrate into a family-oriented, entrepreneurial, and highly demanding work environmentSelf-starter with ability to produce results in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and with limited direction in achieving goals, yet also maintains strong interpersonal and collaboration skillsHITT Contracting is an equal opportunity employer.
