Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the ED, including initial patient assessment, continuous monitoring, and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Triage patients using established protocols, determine priority of care, and collaborate with physicians, PAs, and ED staff to implement care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, manage analgesia and sedation as directed, monitor for adverse reactions, and document medication administration accurately.
- Monitor patient status, respond rapidly to changes, assist with procedures, and support airway management and life-sustaining interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards, ensure accurate charting, perform accurate wound care, and coordinate discharge planning and patient education.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge instructions; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements
- Active California RN license in good standing
- BLS certification; ACLS certification or eligibility preferred
- 1–2 years of ER or acute care experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced ED environment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements and pass background checks and health screenings for travel assignments
