Hourly, contract-to-hire Position Overview A well-established organization is seeking a Benefits & Leave Coordinator to join its Human Resources team. This role will support the administration of employee benefits while taking primary responsibility for the full-cycle administration of Leaves of Absence, including FMLA and disability leaves. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with sensitive employee information. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional with hands-on benefits and leave administration experience who enjoys supporting employees and managing processes from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) plans. Manage the full lifecycle of Leave of Absence, including FMLA, disability, personal, and other applicable leaves. Coordinate employee benefit enrollments, changes, and related documentation. Serve as a resource for employees by responding to benefits and leave-related questions. Maintain accurate employee benefits, leave, HR, and payroll records. Prepare employee communications, correspondence, FAQs, and benefits documentation. Support compliance requirements related to FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations. Assist with benefits and HR audits and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date. Support wellness initiatives and other HR projects as needed. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and medical information. Qualifications 2+ years of HR experience with hands-on benefits and/or leave administration experience. Strong experience administering FMLA and Leaves of Absence from start to finish. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. Experience with HRIS, payroll, or benefits administration systems preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS certification is a plus. Spanish language skills are a plus. Skills & Attributes Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong understanding of employee benefits and leave processes. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced HR environment. Professional, approachable, and employee-focused communication style.
