We are a full-service law firm with a national client base. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Attorney to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with clients on complex tax matters related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), succession planning, and a variety of business law transactions. With our commitment to strategic growth, we are looking to add 1-3 accomplished tax attorneys to our practice over the next year.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This position can be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate's preferences (compensation commensurate with experience and work hours). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on a wide range of tax matters, including business transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other related tax issues. Responsibilities:

• Providing expert legal advice on a wide range of tax matters, including business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other related issues.
• Representing the company during tax audits and proceedings.
• Developing and implementing effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Reviewing and advising on the tax implications of proposed business transactions and initiatives.
• Preparing and reviewing tax returns and other related documents.
• Keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and advising management on the potential impact of such changes on the company's operations.
• Working closely with other members of the legal team to address and resolve complex legal issues.

Qualifications:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• 5-15 years of experience as a tax attorney, with a strong focus on business transactions, mergers and acquisitions.
• A thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations, with a particular focus on those related to business transactions and M&A.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
• CPA or LLM in Tax Law is desirable but not required.
