Human Resources Coordinator

The College of Health is seeking applications for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and work with schools, programs, and centers to assist with the processing of a wide range of human resources related transactions. This position is integral to our college operations in helping us recruit and hire new and returning employees and by assisting with processing all of the changes to assignments that occur over the course of our employees' careers. Responsibilities Respond to requests for employment actions and carry out tasks related to hiring, onboarding, assignment changes, timesheet assistance, performance management, approval routing, and more. Interpret requests and provide information about HR‑related processes and procedures to stakeholders. Stay organized, follow up with colleagues on a daily basis with status of their requests, and pull information from multiple sources to complete error‑free forms by established deadlines. Process routine forms and paperwork and collaborate on process improvement initiatives. To thrive in this role, you will need strong interpersonal communication skills and a willingness to learn from teammates through regular training. You will need to adapt to evolving process improvements and changes, interpret requests, and provide information about HR‑related processes and procedures to stakeholders. Attention to detail is of paramount importance. Minimum Qualifications One year college coursework in human resources and two years of technical human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of progressively responsible training and experience. Position Details This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. Flexible on‑site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. It is a full‑time, non‑exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
