Assistant State Attorney – Legal Division Position Overview: The Legal Division of the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office provides pretrial and trial support for the Assistant State Attorneys in the office. Responsibilities Researching and providing legal authority support for assistants in court. Writing motions on investigative, pretrial and trial issues. Handling post-conviction motions and extradition issues. Reviewing court rulings for potential appeals. Orally arguing motions and attending trials of complex cases to assist trial prosecutors when assigned. Receiving training as necessary for extraditions and related matters. Minimum Requirements Minimum 3 years of extensive criminal experience. Appellate experience preferred. Excellent writing skills. Membership in the Florida Bar required.
