Safety Trainer

Job Overview Transdev is hiring Safety Trainers at our WMATA location. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. Competitive compensation: $27.26 – $32.08 per hour. Benefits Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability. Key Responsibilities Provide classroom and/or behind‑the‑wheel training to new operators or re‑training of current operators; may provide other training to location personnel. Track attendees and maintain training documentation based on regulations and company policy. In addition to driver training, may have other safety program responsibilities (e.g., accident investigation, forms compliance, safety meetings). Other duties as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years training experience. 1–3 years transportation, safety or related experience. Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding safety. Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good verbal, written, and communication skills. Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. Physical Demands Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; work alone and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces. Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs.; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level. Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise. Drug‑free workplace. Drug‑Free Workplace Transdev maintains a drug‑free workplace.
