Small Animal Orthopedic & Soft Tissue Surgery Supervisor (ANML CARE HOSP SUPV 1 VMTH)

Job Summary Independent of supervision in a hospital setting, a significant part of daily duties includes intense moment-to-moment monitoring and reassessment of emergent, critically ill, or anesthetized patients. Under the general supervision of the Surgical Services and Operating Room Manager and the Service Chiefs, supervise animal health technicians and related staff; assess staff training needs; develop, manage, and update training protocols and safety documentation. Provide technical support to the Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery services; evaluate staff work performance; assist with coaching, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations; manage staffing, scheduling, and equipment; perform service charge capture, billing, and inventory management. Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure efficient hospital workflow and daily operations. Key Responsibilities 40% Supervision of clinical staff 40% Orthopedic Surgery & Soft Tissue Surgery support 20% Operational support Minimum Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) License or obtain within 3 months of hire No minimum education required Experience as a lead or supervising staff including staffing needs and scheduling Experience in a veterinary specialty or emergency hospital setting Experience communicating with clients and referring veterinary clinics Knowledge of common small animal surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience developing, implementing, and managing technical SOPs, procedural SOPs, safety protocols, and training documentation Experience working with specialized surgical equipment Knowledge of orthopedic and soft tissue surgery procedures and instruments Compensation Competitive hourly pay ranging from $33.33 to $59.48.
