Senior Electrical Engineer – Commercial Building Design / MEP

Location: Fenton, MO | Hybrid
Compensation: Up to $200,000+ based on experience and PE licensure

This is not a role where you will be stuck in the background producing drawings with no client contact or growth path. This is an opportunity for a senior-level Electrical Engineer to step into a visible role with a well-established consulting engineering firm, lead meaningful commercial building projects, and help drive electrical design from concept through completion.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong commercial building design experience within an MEP or A/E consulting environment. The ideal candidate has experience designing power distribution, lighting, life safety, and electrical systems for facilities such as healthcare, institutional, commercial, municipal, industrial, and technically complex buildings.

This opportunity is a strong fit for someone who is ready to take ownership of projects, interface directly with clients, mentor team members, and play a key role in a growing engineering group.

What You Will Do

• Lead electrical design for commercial building projects
• Design power distribution, lighting, life safety, fire alarm, and related building electrical systems
• Prepare and review load calculations, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, and construction documents
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and clients
• Manage project timelines, design deliverables, and technical coordination
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration
• Ensure designs meet NEC, NFPA, and applicable building code requirements
• Help guide and mentor designers or junior engineers as needed

What We Are Looking For

• 5–10+ years of electrical design experience for commercial building systems
• Experience in an MEP consulting, A/E, or commercial building design environment
• Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes
• Ability to lead projects and coordinate with clients and internal teams
• AutoCAD experience required
• Revit experience strongly preferred
• PE license preferred and strongly valued, especially for top compensation range

Important Experience Alignment

This role is focused on commercial building electrical design. Candidates whose experience is primarily in manufacturing controls, PLC/SCADA programming, utility transmission, substations, electronics, product design, or field inspection without building design experience may not align with this specific opportunity.
