Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Stewardship and Development Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission of St. Matthew Catholic Parish by overseeing and implementing comprehensive fundraising and development efforts. This position focuses on fostering relationships with parishioners, benefactors, and the broader community to secure the financial resources needed to support the parish’s ministries, programs, and facilities. The Development Director works closely with the pastor, staff, and volunteers to promote a culture of stewardship and philanthropy within St. Matthew’s community.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
--Strong understanding of Catholic values, parish life and operations.
--Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
--Proven experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, and relationship management.
--Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
--Proficiency in donor management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and online fundraising platforms.
--Ability to work collaboratively with parish staff, volunteers, and other parish organization leaders.

Education and Experience
--Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
--Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role (experience in a parish or nonprofit setting preferred).
--Knowledge of and commitment to the teachings, mission, and organizational structure of the Catholic Church.
--Practicing Catholic who is an active member of a Catholic parish.
