Sr. Specialist, Talent Acquisition

Overview This is a hybrid role based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA. Summary The Sr. Specialist, Talent Acquisition manages sourcing, recruitment, and selection for assigned functions/regions, focusing on priority, leadership, and innovation to secure top talent. This role performs full lifecycle recruiting and provides staffing services while guiding clients, hiring managers, and candidates through the selection process. Responsibilities Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team. Organize, lead, and communicate day-to-day recruitment operations for assigned client groups via full lifecycle recruitment plans and strategies to meet candidate, functional leader, team, and recruiter expectations. Partner with senior leadership to identify functional needs and workforce-planning strategies, ensuring adherence to practice objectives. Conduct initial interviews to identify qualified candidates for managers. Perform selection activities including pre-screening resumes, participating on interview teams, advising hiring managers, driving the offer process, and leading post-interview debriefs and feedback sessions with interview teams, candidates, and leadership. Maintain accurate documentation on candidates, searches, interactions with hiring managers, and other recruiting activities in the applicant tracking system. Meet hiring targets, manage client relationships, and discuss specific requirements with hiring managers. Drive continuous improvement using measurement tools, scorecards, and recruitment analytics. Ensure proper and confidential protection of candidate data; comply with governmental regulations and company policy and procedure requirements. Develop search strategies balancing creativity, drive, and political savvy. Source active and passive candidates that fit our culture through networking, direct sourcing, and external executive search firms as needed; provide exceptional service by understanding the business landscape and employment value proposition to create a diverse candidate pool. Build networks with strong leadership talent in the marketplace. Lead, coach, and mentor recruiters and hiring managers as needed. Retain and manage relationships with recruiting support such as sourcers, researchers, and search firms. Represent Banfield for recruiting at networking and industry events, job fairs, conferences, and participate in special projects when necessary. Perform other job duties as assigned. Special Working Conditions Ability to work at a computer for long periods. Project timelines and workload may require more than 40 hours per week. Must have mental processes for reasoning, memory, mathematics, and language (reading, writing, speaking English) to perform duties proficiently. Ability to carry out instructions and solve problems involving several variables. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb; ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment. Moderate noise level. Environment where pets are present. Experience, Education, and/or Training Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. PHR/SPHR and/or AIRS certification preferred. Six years of full lifecycle in-house corporate recruiting, with three years recruiting for senior level positions and success in high-volume recruitment. Knowledge of legally defensible sourcing, networking, qualifying, assessing, interviewing, relationship management, record maintenance, and metric management. Expert level experience performing searches to produce qualified candidates using varied sources (cold calls, networking, online resources, career fairs, internal talent pools, referrals). Experience recruiting for large companies with multi-unit presence preferred. Salary Range The pay range for this role is $75,029 – $103,165. The rate is based on candidate experience, skill level, abilities, and education, and may vary by location and schedule.
