Lecturer AY - Kinesiology and Health Promotion

Locations Southern California Appointment Type Temporary Part Time On‑site (work in‑person at business location) Position The temporary faculty pool in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion at Cal Poly Pomona is continuously open. Positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to begin teaching on short notice. Fall term runs from late August to mid‑December; Spring term runs from mid‑January to mid‑May, with potential Summer sessions. Teaching Areas Introduction to kinesiology Contemporary issues in kinesiology Exercise science Biomechanics Motor behavior Health and wellbeing Stress management Research methods Physical activity classes Physical education teacher education Adapted physical education Philosophy of human movement Responsibilities Teach assigned courses in the department’s curriculum. Serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load. Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses. Required Qualifications A Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Public Health, or a related discipline. Preferred Qualifications A Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Public Health, or a related discipline. Prior college or university teaching experience and evidence of strong teaching. Salary and Benefit Information Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Salaries are prorated to the number of units worked and paid in six monthly payments. The range depends on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
