Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 2 years of relevant experience required License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac experience required Description: Registered Nurse in Telemetry with cardiac experience required. This role involves working in a cardiac stepdown unit. The average patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Candidates must have experience managing patients on telemetry. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Candidates will float to other units as necessary. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: BiPAP and CPAP management, blood product administration, telemetry monitoring, and managing cardiac drips. Experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential. Candidates should be familiar with central line care and management. Knowledge of isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols is important. Management of post-cardiac procedures and substance withdrawal is required. Additional responsibilities include wound care and tracheostomy management. The facility supports interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and social services. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. The daily census in the unit is approximately 30 patients. Applicants must have a valid license and relevant experience prior to submission.
