Empower Lives Through Communication in Fort Worth – Join Our Team as a Speech Language Therapist
Imagine taking your career to a new horizon that allows you to amplify the human voice in heartfelt ways. As a Speech Language Therapist in the vibrant city of Fort Worth, your role transcends the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You will ignite potential, rebuild self-esteem, and foster connections — whether it's guiding young children as they articulate their first sentences or helping elderly individuals regain their ability to converse.
This position offers an exceptional chance to cater to diverse clients throughout their lives in a dynamic setting, mixing outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient care. Whether your heart lies in nurturing pediatric language skills, addressing adult neurogenic communication difficulties, or rehabilitating geriatric clients with cognitive-linguistic issues, you'll find both purpose and variety in our welcoming environment.
Description
- Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized evaluations and direct observation.
- Craft tailored treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, medical professionals, and family members to devise comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide educational support for patients and families to boost progress outside of direct therapy sessions.
- Occasionally support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure holistic patient care throughout the treatment process.
- Keep precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Remain up-to-date on field advancements through continuing education pursuits and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start date.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for all demographics, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, fostering positive connections with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy methods to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment for effective problem resolution.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
Benefits
- Attractive salary commensurate with experience.
- Flexible scheduling to facilitate a healthy work-life balance and diverse caseload.
- Opportunities to specialize in a range of focus areas including pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
- Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance selections.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth.
- A collaborative environment that prioritizes quality care and continuous learning.
A Journey of Influence Awaits You
As a vital team member here, you won't merely be providing speech therapy; you'll engage in meaningful work that restores voices, enhances communication, and creates joyful experiences anchored in understanding.
You'll collaborate with clinicians who consider each other family, in an environment that prioritizes teamwork over rivalry. Every patient has a personal narrative; we trust you to enhance how it's articulated.
