Tax Preparer (In-Office)

Northwest Accounting & Tax Service is a well-established, community-focused firm providing tax preparation, accounting, and payroll services. During tax season, we handle a high volume of individual and small business returns. We’re looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team and support return processing. This role is ideal for detail-oriented tax professionals who enjoy preparing accurate returns in a team-oriented environment. Position Overview This role is designed to be a full-time, year-round position. Work hours are Monday to Friday. With Saturday hours during tax season. During the tax season (January to April), we offer a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with the potential for overtime. From April to December, hours will range from 32 to 40 per week, depending on business needs. A qualified candidate who can deliver excellent bookkeeping and/or payroll services will be eligible for up to 40 hours. Key Responsibilities Prepare individual and small business tax returns (1040, Schedule C, etc.) from client-provided documents Review documentation for completeness and follow up with clients as needed by phone or email Ensure compliance with current IRS and Oregon state tax laws Accurately enter data into tax preparation software Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately Collaborate with the tax team to meet internal deadlines and quality standards Qualifications Prior experience preparing individual tax returns (minimum 3 season preferred) Enrolled Agent Preferred.
