Vice President - Resource Development, Direct Response

For our client, we are seeking a Vice President - Resource Development Direct Response to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will drive marketing initiatives focused on growth, customer acquisition, brand performance, and measurable demand creation. You will collaborate with analytics, product, creative, and commercial teams to turn market insights into scalable campaigns, testing strategies, and performance improvements. The position offers the opportunity to directly influence customer engagement, conversion performance, and revenue growth within a mission-driven environment. Location: Chicago, IL - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $200,000 – $200,000 annually Responsibilities Lead and execute direct response fundraising strategies to nurture and retain individual donors Set ambitious revenue goals in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer to ensure long-term sustainability Analyze revenue projections against historical data to inform leadership decisions quarterly Manage vendor partnerships for direct response campaigns across various channels Implement testing and optimization strategies to enhance fundraising performance and donor engagement Qualifications 10+ years in fundraising, sales management, or business development with proven success in meeting targets 6+ years of experience in staff management Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field; equivalent experience may be acceptable Strong understanding of direct response fundraising and data-driven marketing techniques Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions Paid time off including holidays, sick leave, and birthday leave Education assistance and wellness programs Employee Assistance Program for mental health support Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
