Job Exempt: No. Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours. Responsibilities All Certified Respiratory Therapist responsibilities. Assist physicians with bronchoscopy procedures, including monitoring consciousness, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, and delivery of IV conscious sedation agents (opioids, benzodiazepines, sedative hypnotics and reversal agents). Initiate ventilator protocols and coordinate ventilator management. Perform advanced airway care, including tracheotomy changes, extubation and intubation. Initiate and monitor high-frequency ventilators. In NICU, perform surfactant delivery, intubation and attend high-risk deliveries. Optional procedures: transport team, intubation, and backup charge therapist. Initiate and monitor nitric oxide delivery. Perform department-specific functions as detailed in the summary of the department-specific duties. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Two to three years of college-level coursework or an Associate’s Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care. New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License. Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC. ACLS and/or PALS; BLS required. Six months to one year critical care experience preferred. AA/EOE/VET/DISABLED.
