Hydroponics Production Farm Manager

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout Green Our Planet OrganicsGreen Our Planet is a Las Vegas-based nonprofit that has built over 400 school gardens across Clark County. Green Our Planet Organics is our commercial urban farming arm, operating out of our production facility in Las Vegas. We grow and sell premium organic herbs, vegetables, and specialty produce to local restaurants, institutions, and the community - with 25% of all produce sales going directly back into funding school garden programs.We are looking for an exceptional Production Farm Manager to lead and operate our production facility from the ground up, someone who is equal parts scientist, farmer, operations manager, and quality control director.The RoleThis is not a single-focus growing position. Our Production Farm Manager owns the full operation, from the health of every plant to the efficiency of the facility to the consistency of supply to our partners depend on. You will be responsible for growing, production management, facility operations, food safety, and team leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesGrowing & Crop ManagementManage all aspects of daily hydroponic crop production across multiple growing systemsDevelop and maintain crop schedules that ensure consistent weekly harvests for restaurant supplyMonitor and manage nutrient solutions, pH levels, electrical conductivity (EC), and water qualityDiagnose and treat plant health issues including nutrient deficiencies, pests, and diseaseOperate and optimize SANANBIO vertical growing units and LED lighting systemsSelect and source premium heirloom and specialty seed stock for maximum flavor and yieldManage climate control, humidity, CO2 levels, and environmental monitoring systemsProduction & Facility OperationsOversee all production planning, scheduling, and yield tracking to meet delivery commitmentsMaintain the facility to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safetyManage fertigation systems, irrigation infrastructure, and all mechanical growing equipmentImplement and maintain GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) protocols throughout the facilityEnsure compliance with all food safety regulations applicable to commercial produce operationsTrack production data, yield metrics, and input costs to maximize efficiency and profitabilityManage inventory of growing supplies, nutrients, seeds, and packaging materialsTeam & Client RelationsHire, train, and manage facility staff and growing assistants as the operation scalesBuild and maintain strong relationships with restaurant partners and institutional buyersCommunicate proactively with clients about availability, custom grow requests, and delivery schedulesCollaborate with Green Our Planet Organics leadership on new product development and revenue growthQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), Agricultural Science, Food Science, or related field - preferredMaster's degree in any of the above - preferredExperienceMinimum 5 years of commercial-scale hydroponic production experience - requiredProven experience managing a high-volume indoor growing facility with yield targets and commercial delivery commitmentsHands-on experience with multiple hydroponic systems - NFT, DWC, vertical towers, flood and drain, and/or aeroponic systemsExperience with SANANBIO vertical growing units and LED lighting systems - highly preferredDemonstrated expertise in nutrient management, fertigation systems, and environmental controlsExperience supplying produce to restaurants, food distributors, or institutional buyersPrevious team management or supervisory experience in a production environmentCertificationsServSafe Food Handler Certification - preferredGAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Certification or experience operating under GAP standards - requiredCertified Crop Adviser (CCA) - preferredCertified Horticulturist (CH) - preferredOSHA 10 or 30 - preferredOrganic Certification experience (USDA NOP) - a plusThe Ideal CandidateYou are a grower at heart who also thinks like an operator.
