Position Summary

The Program Manager plays a vital leadership role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of educational services and programs. Working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Education, this position oversees tutoring services, small-group instruction, and specialized educational programs while ensuring a high-quality experience for students, families, tutors, instructors, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Coordination

• Lead the day-to-day administration and coordination of one-to-one tutoring services, small-group classes, and specialized educational programs.
• Recruit, onboard, train, support, and retain qualified tutors and instructors.
• Match students with appropriate tutors and educational services based on individual needs and goals.
• Maintain accurate program records, student files, assessments, and reporting documentation.
• Oversee curriculum and assessment resources to ensure program quality and effectiveness.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for families, tutors, educators, school district personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor program performance and recommend improvements to enhance student outcomes and service delivery.

Community Engagement

• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with schools, community organizations, colleges, universities, and other educational partners.
• Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and outreach activities.
• Promote awareness of programs and services within the community.

Instructional Support

• Teach classes, workshops, or educational programs as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to tutors and instructors regarding instructional practices and student needs.

Resource & Advocacy Support

• Serve as a trusted resource for students, families, tutors, and community members seeking educational support.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information regarding available programs, services, and educational resources.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's Degree (A.A. or A.S.) required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field preferred.

Experience

• Experience working in education, tutoring, academic support services, or program coordination required.
• Classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or educational professionals is a plus.

Required Skills

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and general office technology.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access, student databases, or learning management systems is beneficial.

Preferred Skills

• Presentation and public speaking experience.
• Experience with educational assessments and curriculum resources.
• Program planning, evaluation, and reporting experience.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting of up to 10 pounds.
• Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Work is performed in a typical office and educational environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards.

Salary Range: $30,000 - $54,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
