As one of Indianas largest employers, our vision is to lead the transformation of healthcare through quality, innovation, and education, and make Indiana one of the nations healthiest states./ph3About This Position:/h3ulliFull Time, Night Shift/liliThis position provides functional guidance to Polysomnographic Technicians and Technologists in the Sleep Disorders Center./liliThey assist with precepting, shift coverage and inventory duties./liliIn addition to performing all duties of the Polysomnographic Technologist, this position monitors nightly workflow, serves as nighttime coordinator for patient testing, and serves as a resource person on technical and medical matters./liliThey will perform duties and tasks of the areas major work functions approximately 60-70% of the time./liliPrimary location: Riley Hospital/li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliHigh School Diploma/GED required. Associates degree preferred./liliRequires 5-7 years of relevant experience./lili5 or more years of Polysomnographic Technologist experience preferred/liliRequires current RPSGT or certification as Sleep Disorders Specialist (with an active RRT through NBRC or an active RCP with the state of Indiana)./liliRequires Basic Life Support certification./liliPrefer additional experience in respiratory care or neurodiagnostics./liliRequires in-depth knowledge of polysomnographic testing, scoring practices and procedures associated with an accredited sleep disorders center./liliRequires the ability to operate complex equipment, which includes the ability to recognize defective operation and perform minor calibrations or repairs to equipment./liliRequires the ability to recognize defects in the record caused by movement, loose electrodes and local interference./liliRequires independent judgment based on thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures./liliRequires effective communication skills, computer skills, technical adaptability and the ability to work without direct supervision./liliRequires the ability to handle discretionary information./li/ulpIU Health also offers different opportunities for career and professional development for our staff that qualify for benefits.
