Vascular Technologist Position

Job Summary:

We are looking for a vascular technologist to assist the physicians in diagnosing and treating patients in the office, surgical suite or hospital setting. Your goal is to ensure a smooth workflow so our patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities will include:

• Prepare patients for non-invasive diagnostic vascular procedures
• Prepare area for the placement of testing equipment; perform vascular tests on patients (including arterial and venous leg testing, carotid artery imaging)
• Use ultrasound machines to record vascular information, such as blood flow and pressure; cerebral, abdominal and peripheral circulation
• During procedures, monitor patient's vital signs/assist with rooming patients as back up to MA
• Maintain equipment
• (May) schedule patients for testing
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Handle protected health information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in Quality Improvement Program and initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned; seeks guidance and direction when needed.
• (May) perform vascular testing in the office and hospital setting

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 4 years' experience as a registered vascular technician
• Strong patient/customer service orientation
• Maintains a professional appearance; takes pride and ownership of work and works in a cooperative, team-oriented manner
• Effective communicator
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to handle shifting priorities
• Possesses the physical ability and perceptive acuity (e.g. visual, hearing) to perform all direct and indirect care functions.

Education:

• Associate's degree in diagnostic medical sonography from an accredited program (CAHEP, ARDMS or CCI); BA degree a plus
• Registered vascular technician (RVT) or RVS required
