Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in a Labor and Delivery setting
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given accurately and thoroughly
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid Compact RN license
• Current certification from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in a Perinatal RN Residency program or recent practice in a perinatal setting
• Familiarity with competency validation processes and annual competency verification requirements
