Description: This unit consists of 20 beds. Staffing includes 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, and 2 CNAs on day shift. Night shift consists of 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, and 2 CNAs. Patient ratios are 1:5 or 1:6, depending on the level of care. It is an inpatient overflow unit with a mix of medical surgical and step-down patients. The unit targets short stay patients with a 24-hour length of stay. Quick patient turnover is expected. Equipment used includes telemetry. All patients requiring telemetry monitoring are hardwired to bedside monitors. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Candidates should have a positive attitude and be focused on patient experience. Kindness, compassion, and teamwork are essential qualities for this role. Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed. The dress code consists of a navy and/or white top with navy bottoms or all white. Every other weekend is required, and there is no on-call requirement.
