Accounts Payable Specialist (Construction Industry) Location: Orange County, California Pay Rate: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour (DOE) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced construction company in Orange County. The ideal candidate will have prior construction industry accounting experience, strong knowledge of high-volume invoice processing, and expertise in three-way matching procedures. This role requires excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently. Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices prior to payment processing. Review and verify invoice coding, approvals, and supporting documentation. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, and receiving departments to ensure proper invoice approvals and documentation. Manage subcontractor and supplier payments according to company policies and payment schedules. Process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments. Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and insurance documentation. Assist with month-end closing activities, accruals, and account reconciliations. Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account issues. Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls. Qualifications 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably within the construction industry. Strong understanding of high-volume AP processing and three-way matching requirements. Experience working with purchase orders, subcontractors, job cost coding, and construction-related invoices. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
