Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

Location: Los Angeles, California

Direct Counsel is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join a highly respected global law firm with a nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level or senior associate looking to work on sophisticated, high-stakes commercial disputes alongside an accomplished and collaborative team of litigators.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of complex commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, briefs, and other substantive filings
• Conduct complex case evaluations and develop litigation strategy
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions
• Take and defend depositions and work closely with fact witnesses and expert witnesses
• Collaborate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and litigation teams
• Attend hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings
• Assist with trial preparation and case management responsibilities

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar
• 5–7 years of complex commercial litigation experience
• Significant experience with false advertising and consumer class action matters required
• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience managing sophisticated litigation matters and client relationships
• Deposition and court experience preferred
• Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
• Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship experience is a plus
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to client service

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $325,000 – $365,000, depending on experience and qualifications
