Billing SpecialistAccounting and Billing SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Accounting and Billing Specialist is responsible for managing billing processes, accounts payable, and school bus contract billing. This role ensures accurate and timely financial transactions while maintaining compliance with company policies. The individual also serves as a backup for payroll processing and supports other accounting functions as needed. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Prepare and process billing for school bus contracts, charter services, and other transportation operationsManage accounts payable, including coding, entering, and reconciling vendor invoicesEnsure timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors and service providersMaintain accurate financial records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposesServe as a backup for payroll processing to ensure continuity in employee compensationCollaborate with the HR and Payroll Coordinator on payroll-related tasks as neededSupport month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reportingRespond to billing and accounts payable inquiries from internal staff, customers, and vendorsAssist with other finance and administrative functions as directed by managementEducation, Experience and Skills:Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)2–4 years of experience in accounting, billing, or accounts payable/receivableFamiliarity with payroll processing is preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesProficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)$25 - $28/HR#NorVoyageurAverage Pay Rate28Benefits and Total RewardsWe believe in rewarding great people with meaningful benefits that support your health, growth, and long term success.Part Time Team MembersDental insuranceVision insurancePaid trainingAnnual bonus opportunityCareer development opportunitiesThis job description outlines the general nature and level of responsibilities associated with this position.
