Shift Type: Night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $73.50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional critical care to neuro patients in a 20-bed Neuro ICU
• Monitor and interpret EKG strips and telemetry readings with confidence
• Manage ventilators and complex neuro patients including CVA, ICB, and craniotomy cases
• Perform thorough patient assessments and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and a 24/7 RT and pharmacy team
• Support a strong stroke program and neuro interventional radiology cases
• Float first to sister facilities when needed and embrace a team-first mindset
• Document accurately in Cerner and keep the care team aligned

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (or compact license)
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications
• 2 years of ICU experience with Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred
• Comfort reading and interpreting EKG strips
• Ventilator management experience
• Cerner EMR experience is a plus
• Two supervisory references required at submittal, one within 12 months and one within 3 years
• Must be able to complete the required dys exam prior to signing
• Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays and every other weekend

• Unit Notes: Med Sol prescreens
• need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal
• 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU and neuro critical care nursing
• Patient assessment and rapid clinical judgment
• Critical care and stroke care best practices
• EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Ventilator management
• Neuro ICU patient populations including CVA, ICB, and neuro surgeries
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced unit
