Job Opportunity

Position Summary

This is a backfill contract position for an Operating Room (OR) within a surgical department. The contract duration is 13 weeks, operating on a day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Call is required.

Essential Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the surgical field.
• At least 1 year of traveling experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in multiple service lines, including Orthopedics, Spine, Neuro, Robotics, Plastics, General, and GYN (excluding Cardiovascular procedures).

Unit Information

• Location: Austin, TX
• Number of Operating Rooms: 22 ORs
• Staffing: 80 staff members including RNs, CSTs, charge personnel, and support staff.
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Technology: Advanced robotics, cardio, vascular, neuro, spine, oncology, orthopedics, plastics, urology, GYN.
• EMR Used: Meditech

Schedule and Call Requirements

• Minimum of 4 to 5 shifts required per 6-week period.
• 4 to 5 late shifts required per 6-week period.
• Weekend shifts are available.

Key Qualifications

• Required Certification: Must hold certification for Certified Surgical Technicians (CSTs).
• Specific Experience: Candidates must have experience in Neuro/Spine for related service lines and must possess cardiac experience for the cardiac service line.

Preferred Skills

• Experience across multiple service lines including Orthopedic, Neuro, General, and Robotic procedures.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, self-direction, and a positive attitude.

Dress Code

• Scrubs are provided.
• Closed-toe, heeled, non-slip shoes are required.
