Human Resource Manager

Description Responsible for the development and implementation of those policies and programs related to human resource management, with primary emphasis on talent acquisition and workforce training and development, recruiting the people the company needs and building the skills, cross-training and bench strength that support company growth, along with employment strategies, benefit programs, employee engagement, and occupational safety, toward maintaining a culture that aligns with company goals for employee engagement and retention. JOB FUNCTIONS: Talent Acquisition & On-boarding: Owns full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles, sourcing strategy and venues, job postings, pre-screening of applicants, structured interviews, offer coordination, and the internal job posting process. Builds and maintains active candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill manufacturing, technical, sales and leadership roles, and partners with hiring managers to define role profiles and hiring plans before searches begin. Coordinates the on-boarding process from offer letter through first-90-day follow-up, familiarizing new hires with the company environment to promote their early success and retention. Manages all aspects of the use, placement and training of temporary hires through employment agencies, including agency selection and temp-to-hire conversion. Tracks and reports recruiting metrics monthly, open roles, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and 90-day retention, and recommends improvements. Training & Development: Designs, implements and manages the company-wide training and development program, including new-hire training, job-skills and cross-training plans by department, safety training, and business-system training in partnership with function leaders. Consults with Management Team and other supervisors to determine and implement training and education of workforce. Compiles data and analyzes past and current training and education to evaluate success of programs and make recommendations regarding on-going activities, including retention of all training/education records in support of ISO 9001:2015 competence requirements. Develops supervisor, lead and cross-training pathways that deepen bench strength and create internal promotion opportunities. HR Operations, Benefits & Compliance: Works with Management Team to monitor the effectiveness of existing human resource strategies, policies and systems to determine if company goals are being met and promotes changes by analyzing industry trends. Acts as the focal point to ensure company policies and practices are followed to provide employees with an environment that promotes and supports their development and makes them feel valued and respected for their contributions to the company. Oversees and administers the weekly payroll process to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Provides company-wide communication through newsletters, promotions and events to encourage employee engagement and interactions while also updating them on current company goals and activities. Develops and maintains job descriptions, organizational charts and related materials to clearly define job functions and responsibilities to ensure that hiring and appraisals are clearly communicated. Compiles and analyzes data regarding employee retention and turnover rates and makes recommendations regarding methods to retain employees and increase their job and company engagement. Oversees benefit programs such as vacation and 401(k) to ensure procedures are in place to process Payroll with accurate information needed for proper issuance of employee compensation and benefits. Supervises the administration of employee issues relating to benefit programs including promotion of the programs and notification of changes. Annually reviews benefit programs and participates in the final selection of carriers for employee benefits. Acts as a member of the Safety Committee team. Coordinates company safety program including work safety standards; purchase and distribution of safety equipment; and coordination of outside provider activities. Works with the EHS Manager and oversees the handling with the worker’s compensation carrier. Prepares reports and maintains records to ensure company compliance with governmental agencies concerning issues such as EEO, ADA, FMLA and OSHA. May be required to follow other job-related instructions and duties, as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws. Requirements Minimum of 10 years of human resource related education or work experience with 200+ workforce. Demonstrated success owning full-cycle recruiting, from sourcing through on-boarding, preferably for manufacturing or technical roles. Hands-on experience designing and delivering workforce training programs, including maintaining training records and measuring results. Previous supervisory experience. Strong leadership, decision making, organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written). Multi-tasker with good time management and conflict management skills Computer systems proficiency especially Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint, HRIS, and applicant tracking systems Background in manufacturing environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual (English/Spanish) SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certificate Experience building apprenticeship, skilled-trades or cross-training programs in a manufacturing setting Experience selecting or administering an applicant tracking system (ATS) or learning management system (LMS) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lift or move up to 20 pounds occasionally Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing Accommodation as required for reading documents, computer screens, and using phone systems. WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Both active and sedentary work, which may involve repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers, walking, standing, bending and lifting. Eligible for remote work per policy.
