Sr. Accountant

Senior AccountantWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment, and enjoys improving processes while maintaining accurate financial records.Key Responsibilities:General AccountingPrepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.Record revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet activity.Support accounting activities across multiple legal entities.Financial ReportingAssist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Compliance & Internal ControlsEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.Support internal controls, accounting procedures, and regulatory filings.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.Document accounting procedures and participate in finance transformation initiatives.Collaborate with Finance Operations to improve automation, reporting, and data accuracy.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Revenue Operations, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and business leaders to support accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.Qualifications:EducationBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.CPA designation preferred but not required.Experience5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.Strong experience with accrual accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.Experience supporting external audits.Professional services, engineering, consulting, or project accounting experience preferred.Technical SkillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and Power Query.Experience with Bill.com, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems.Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, project accounting, and revenue recognition.Experience with Power B I or other business intelligence/reporting tools is a plus.Core CompetenciesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills.Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization.What Success Looks LikeDelivers an accurate and timely month-end close.Produces reliable financial statements, reconciliations, and management reporting.Strengthens accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation.Improves efficiency through automation, standardization, and process improvements.Builds trusted partnerships across Finance and Operations while supporting informed business decisions.About Novetus Engineering LLCNovetus is unsurpassed in our commitment to achieving our objectives as efficiently as possible.
