Senior Accountant

The role of the Senior Accountant is to manage activities relating to the region’s financial & month-end accounting, compliance (tax, registrations, filings etc.) across both companies, cash flow & banking, administration, and to provide business and management support to the studio and ERA leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Month End Accounting, Journals & Reconciliations Post monthly depreciation, prepayment, payroll and lease journals. Post and release accrued expenditures and manage reconciliation of accrual balance. Review doubtful debts provision with the studio accountants at month end close. Oversee the North American regional management cost centre profit and loss, including allocation of regional costs to studios on a monthly basis. Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including detailed quarterly review of doubtful debts, outstanding AP items and intercompany accounts. Cash Flows & Banking Post receipts and prepare regular (at least weekly) bank reconciliations. Update weekly cash flow forecasts for the region. Make payments based on the schedule prepared with the Studio Accountants. Check bank daily and alert Studio Accountants when client receipts are posted. Accounts Payable Code regional creditors, expense claims, credit cards (AMEX), vendor credit requests and other administration. Download AMEX statements monthly and reconcile, journalize, and submit for approval. Prepare weekly and off-cycle accounts payable check runs. Compliance Ensure all corporate registrations and filings are up to date. Assist with Federal, State, and City tax filings. Liaise with Group Finance for completion of the annual audit. Supporting Regional Studio Leaders & Staff Support management on ad-hoc requests and financial reviews. Support Regional Leadership and staff on finance matters. Request clarification on conflicting requests and prioritize effectively. Support management in business strategies and client negotiations. Negotiate with suppliers/contracts on settlements, discounts, and payment terms. Utilize the broader finance network to support the role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, collaborative, and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Attention to detail with rigorous follow‑up. Willingness to learn. Team player who can also work autonomously and take initiative. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Key Skills and Experience Bachelor of Business/Commerce required. Chartered or Certified CPA/CMA desirable. Previous experience in a similar role within a professional services firm. At least 5-7 years of accounting experience. Experience using accounting software. Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills. Experience with BST is an advantage.
